Project Engineer, WASH (Contractual); Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Prepare design and construction specifications for WASH infrastructure
- Prepare detailed designs, calculations, and scope of works, specifications, bills of quantities and drawings for contract work packages
- Supervise the contractors to ensure all construction work according to design, plan and specification besides assists the contractors/partners in resolving the technical issues
- Report any inconsistency or problem on the site to the site office
- nspect and supervise the Quality of any type of construction materials before the full procurement takes place and Work closely with Procurement committee to provide the technical support
- Ensure that all designs and technical specifications are shared with deputy team lead/ WASH specialist and their comments and agreements are obtained
- Conduct skills training or technical courses
- Prepare detailed annual implementation plan and monthly activity plans and procurement plan
- Work closely with procurement committee to provide the technical support
- Initiate requisitions for procurement of sanitation materials, tools and equipment in a timely manner
- Monitor delivery of sanitation materials/tools/equipment by WASH committees to households to ensure equity and accountability
- Liaise with the WASH camp store keeper to ensure that an up to date stock inventory is kept
- Prepare detailed annual implementation plan and monthly activity plans for activities in the camp in line with Sector Annual AOP and in consultation with deputy team lead/WASH specialist, and ensure timely implementation and regular participatory review
- Monitor and supervise infrastructure repair, replacement activities to ensure public health and safety assured
- Responsible for budget tracking and finance and procurement of WASH project
- Monitor regularly construction activities for safe work practices
Requirements | |
Educational Requirements:
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from any recognised University/ Institution
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in WASH/ Construction or of any other relevant field is required
Additional Job Requirements: |
- Good knowledge in engineering designs of WASH infrastructure
- Good knowledge of water and sanitation issues, and hygiene practice
- English: fluency in the language, expected to work independently using the language
required, to prepare a variety of written communications (correspondence, reports, working papers, etc.), to participate actively in meetings and in work related discussions
- Ability to use computers and have knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
- Teamwork spirit and community mobilization skills
- Good communication skills
- Problem solving skills
